New rules for the electronic queue at the Kazakhstan border have come into effect.
On September 17, 2025, the Minister of Finance signed an order amending the rules for crossing the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan by motor vehicles, as well as for the transportation of goods and cargo. The amendments provide, among other things, for the use of a paid electronic queue system, Kazinform agency reports.
According to the new amendments, local executive authorities must now organize waiting areas near border crossing points. It has now been clearly defined in which cases priority border crossing applies and in which cases an expedited procedure is used. The electronic queue system (EQS) provides the possibility of priority registration of entry for certain types of vehicles, cargo, and goods. It is specified that in the EQS, priority entry registration applies to the following categories of vehicles, cargo, and goods: the designated postal operator — when a list of vehicles is submitted to the customs authorities at least 10 calendar days before the intended booking date; animals, perishable goods, dangerous goods, as well as Kazakhstani export cargo — when accompanied by a goods declaration, transit declaration, or documents used as a transit declaration under the EAEU and Kazakhstan customs legislation, provided that only such goods are transported; humanitarian and military cargo, and in cases of official requests received through diplomatic channels from a foreign government — when state authorities submit the list of vehicles to the customs authorities at least 10 calendar days before the intended booking date.
